Dear Mountain View Families:
As we think about the upcoming school year, we continually want to be reflective of our practice and strive to prepare our students to be knowledgeable and inquiring individuals that contribute to our world and strive to be lifelong learners. In the year to come, we want to embrace our district mission, “Inspiring innovation, empowering success”. Opportunities that we provide our students at Mountain View are framed around concepts, skills, attitudes, and action. In order to meet our goals, it is critical that our students collaborate, think deeply, communicate, problem solve, create and innovate, and think analytically. With your help and continued support,we have been able to reach one-to-one accessibility with Chromebooks for our students. It is imperative that we stay the course and continue to provide our students access to materials and tools to meet their needs.
Last year we asked for donations in lieu of traditional school supplies; we will continue this practice for the 2017-18 school year. We would like to ask that you make a monetary donation to Mountain View. Donation monies will be used to cover the cost of school supplies, (which we will buy in bulk), a planner for each student, additional Chromebooks, and providing for maintenance, repairs, replacement, and sustainability of technology tools used by your students. If your student would like to bring special items (i.e. folders, pencils, etc.), they are welcome to; know that all students will have the items that they need.
When students return to school in August, we ask that you contribute an amount relative to what you would normally spend on school supplies in the form of a donation; checks need to be made payable to Mountain View Elementary School.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
Shelly Prenger, Principal
